Ok snappers! Apologies for the delay.. it's a long story
Not as many entries as I'd hoped for, but it's quality non quatity that counts. The choices I have made are mine on the brief given, and the ones that pleased my eyes the most. I'll keep it short and sweet for now (work) and add other mentions later.
So .... In 3rd place...
karlosfandango and the stripes. A very strong image. Love the contrast given by the light/exposure. A great abstract shot of detail.
2nd
doodah, wonderful shot, fab use of light. Selective focus along with good post work forcing the eye even more to look at the detail.
And............ 1st place...........
drum role.............
UKBob. This one grabbed me from the second I saw it, and it's been in the back of my mind ever since. Love the light just picking out the side of the rope enough to bring it to the foreground. The right across frame composition and the detail shown.. making you wonder whats the bigger picture. Angles normally create the feeling of uneasiness, yet it gives one of a quiet place. Really great shot Bob. email me address for prize.
I'll add some more mentions/thoughts this evening...
Over to you Bob...

The winning photo really made me embrace my inner child! We are TOTALLY swimming in the river of us!!! The rope is a metaphor for the anxiety caused by the individuality of the human condition. It reminds us all that we can be strong and stand out from the crowd just like UKBobs photo!

No, keeping the Columbian Farmers Guild in business
First place!?!
Speechless!
Wooohoooo!!
I was hoping I might just be able to make it into the top three if I was lucky, but upon reviewing the serious competition, I had my doubts!
Congrats to karlosfandango and doodah
in second and third place, and to everyone else - There were better photographs in the runnings than mine, some incredible shots to be sure
I did pay extra special attention to last months brief, and the hints about what to look for - I think I read the instructions 3 times
I suppose everyone has different tastes when it comes to reviewing. A very big well done to all. And thanks in advance for the prize
It doesnt have a 70-200 focal length with IS, does it?
