What is a fair price for an 5D Body only, with all original bits and bobs, bought in Jan this year?

£1100 seems reasonable if it's all OK.

The body on a 5D will show wear much more than say a 1 series .... making it easier to judge it's use. The 1 series hides large numbers of shutter actuations well !

I only got my 5D a month ago but am already up to 1,000 shots. I knocked it against the side of the car - only lightly - last week putting it away as my 200 lens swung round with the camera on the strap, and scraped the top panel and handgrip. Maybe I was unlucky but I have done the same on a 1 series and not really left as mark.

If the camera is mint it is unlikely to have been abused. Shutter actuations on a 5D 'should' be far less than a 'pro' style camera such as a 1D ... but take a good look at it as many 5D's seem to be being used for Press work. Since it came out I have seen loads being used by reporters but can't imagine after my experience that you would not notice a well used copy just by looking at it closely.
