Anyone got a link?

I took 500 photos today, from spitfires to the eurofighter. I've since deleted them all due to my 70mm focal length, which didnt reach quite as far as I hoped it might

ps - Has anyone found 200mm to be a little on the short side at air shows? Im guessing 400+ really would be ideal?

I kept a few parachuting shots as they came in nice and close. This one is probably the best of the bunch

Handheld at 400mm, would that reqire a faster or slower shutter speed than the 24-70 at 70mm? Given that it has IS.

Ive not read the reviews, but does it make a good walk about lens, if you're happy to shoot at 100+ without swapping lenses?

People say it's heavy but I say heavy shmeavy. I walk around wih it all day, with a 1D mind, and don't think about the wieght. It is certainly my "walkaround" lens.

Cheers. My 24-70 weights quite a bit too, im used to it so I doubt the weight would bother me.

Not ready to buy yet, but im tempted by this:
www.fredmiranda.com/reviews/showproduct.php?product=217&sort=7&cat=27&page=2

It would be a toss up between this and the 100-400. Next year most likely.

100-400L?

Airhows ?

Oh Yes..

And a lot of those are fairly heavy crops due to the flightline being way out off the beach...

Also at Eastbourne today, in the right place at the right time but nothing else was right including the 200mm I used.

You must have been on the sunny end of Eastbourne, great pic considering conditions.

Here's a few pics i've taken fairly recently. I don't have a DSLR. They were taken with a Fuji S7000 with a telephoto adapter diving around 10x optical zoom. Not sure what focal length this = though ..

Youve got some fantastic pics in your gallery! clap Were any of them taken using an extender widget?

Was that taken with the 200 then, or...?

I did a little tweaking in PS, and that must have been the only patch of blue sky I saw all day. Most of my photos looked like they were taken after dusk.

Cheers

I don't use and extender on the 100-400L as it would take it out of AF range on the 20D. For those Airshow shots i just cropped out the unwanted Sky.

The only convertor i use is a 2x in conjunction with the Sigma 120-300, but i'd probably do my back in trying to use that beast for Airshows.

Yes it was a 200mm Bob, the Mirage was just about to go into outer space when he put the brakes on which created the vapour envelope around the delta wing.
