Shooting lens-flares..

I'm going to be trying to shoot some lens flares/reflections today against black. Any suggestions on how best to achieve? hood off ?

thinking tripod, blacked out room and flashlight..

Do I sense a trip to the eye doctor with a burned out retina?

Easiest way would be to use the sun no? Then Pshop it to look dark behind. Maybe an invert would look good.

it's just the lens reflections I'm after really.. the flare I can make.. they are for a job I'm on at the moment...

I never seem to see flare until I'm looking at the developed photograph, don't know if its easier to see with the lens stopped down first ?

problem is you see them yourself.. but they aint actually on the lens lol.. tiny hole in box with torch through it got best results!
