A few snaps from the HSCC Gold Cup over the Bank Holiday Weekend
Only in Britain could we take granny's shopping car, shove in a V6 and 4WD and take it rallying. The MG Metro 6R4.
A Ford RS 200. Not just any RS200 but an RS200 Evo no less. WooHoo etc..
Arguably the most famous of the GroupB cars that were ultimately banned after a serious of accidents involving both crews and spectators...The Audi Quattro
Another Quattro, cos i likes em!
There ya go boys, a real rally car. Non of this SubMitsi Evo 45 WRC rubbish..
Opel Manta 400
Nissan 240RS
And you can't have a Rally without a MK2 Escort...

Following on from the Rally stuff, here's some of the on-track action.
The weather was as random as ever, going from overcast to sunny to heavy rain then back again. All part of the fun alegedly
The Jaguar XK race was red-flagged as i arrived at the circuit due to an incident involving several cars, by the time the circuit was cleared we were left with a 2 lap "race"...
Race winner, Darren McWhirter in his XK120, with the rest of the field chasing.
An XK150s, driven by Micheal O'Shea. He finished in 4th.
During the Historic Formula Ford race, the heavens opened...
Then out came the Historic Road Sports and the sun !
This is Mike Eagles in a Milano GT Mk1
I'll finish off with a selection of shots from the Derek Bell Trophy. This series features single seaters built between 1967 and 1979 from various race series including F1, F2, F3, F5000 and several others.
Nick Shrigley-Feigl in a Lola T300. Unfortunately he failed to finish.
A Chevron B24 driven by Anthony Taylor.
A 3 way battle down at Old Hall corner..
Judy Lyons had the dubious honour of finishing last in a Gurney Eagle. The car looks nice though

Mmmm I'm a happy woman now. My fav car of all time.
Other half will be pleased with the Quattro pics.
Proper cars !
Well done - cool pictures.
Excellent photos again, Geoff.
I especially like the sideways Manta ('cos I used to have one) and the FFord in the rain. I love photographing racing in the wet as I find it adds a little extra to the pictures with the spray thrown up by the tyres.
Favourite has to be the Chevron though. Simply stunning looking racing car and from one of the most interesting and characterful marques ever, IMO.
