Chaps,

What is the quickest way to download RAW files from my compact flash card to my Laptop.
I thought it would be by Compact Flash PCMI card, but I bought one and it's slower than USB.

Any suggestions ?

USB 2 card reader, or firewire card reader if your laptop has it, PCMCIA cards are about USB 1 speed.

Get hold of Downloader Pro, part of Breezebrowser I think....set it up properly, then when you double click the icon, it takes downloads all pics from all folders on the card to your desired location, even renaming and numbering if you choose.

Quick, easy, and very efficient, just click and leave to download.

I'm ok thanks.

Any old connection will work as you just point it at a set of drive letters. Dead simple.

I use a FireWire reader and PhotoMechanic to download. PhotoMechanic is quite simply the best and fastest way of editing a large number of photos: sorting, selecting, captioning, and transmitting are all very quick and easy.
