Get thee behind me Santa

(actually, with your MF move, you wouldn't happen to have something in the 200 area?)

If not utterly skint, I'd be interested!

I got a 20mm prime when I got the 20D, and it's not wide enough. That said, I don't like the effect of ultra-wides on a 1.6crop CCD, it just doesn't look right and the optics are not great. I keep a film camera with 24mm for landscapes, and look foward to the day I can afford a full-frame sensor DSLR, which will then truly replace film...

Such a pointless lens... It was great at le mans seeing all the pros with their 300 / 400 primes missing all the action because of their fixed focal lengths!

Agreed, it's too long for something like LM but it's hardly pointless. The majority of the stuff I do is in the sky or on a distant runway - there are very few shows where the flight line is close enough for it to be too close. Old Warden is one, and possibly Kemble, but that's about it. That's why I want a 200 or so, to fill that gap.

(I managed to get that across without mentioning I had the 400 on at LM and was cursing it. D'oh!)
