Hi,

I have a Centon 500mm f8 lens and I need an adaptor to enable me to fit it to my Canon T90 camera. The mount on the lens is for a Canon autofocus camera and I need an FD mount (I think). The mount on the back of this lens screws onto the lens.

Any help or prices for the mount I need would be greatly appreciated...

Cheers..

Yes, the FD mount is the one you'll need. However to get it to go round this way I suspect you'll have some trouble, at least you've got a fixed aperture (and I'm pretty sure it'll be a manual focus lens) so the fact that the Canon Eos mount only talks to the lens electrically (i.e. no mechanical linkages) whereas I believe the FD mount is totally the opposite.

Try Ebay? Quality of adaptors is usually variable though. It may be as cheap to buy an EOS body for the lens, although I suspect you like the handling of the T90 over many of the other options!

Good luck with finding what you need.

You just need to buy a new T2 mount for it (FD fit), will cost you less than £20. It used to be a fairly standard way of making lenses fit different cameras, drawback was that it only allowed the camera to be used manually (which doesn't really matter with a mirror lens if that's the 500mm that you have).
