Where were the photos of the North coast taken? They look like they must be out West somewhere towards Melvich/Bettyhill/Tongue?
Somewhere near Durness as I recall. Tongue was our first night's stop (it's north of Ben Loyal near the north coast, not the west) and we got to that coastline reasonably soon on our second day.

In a similar vein, where was the one across Loch Tay taken? I should recognise the place, we went on holiday there every year when I was a sprog!

You won't recognise it, because it isn't Loch Tay
I got two pics mixed up and should have realised simply because Loch Tay is freshwater and inland and not actually that big. That picture is the sea
It's Aultbea.On a Scotland note.
I was just sitting in the bar here in the West Highlands (It's raining and dark so the bar seemed the best place to be) and said to the young girl pouring out a dram:
"Where's the swear jar - it used to be here on the bar?"
"Some f*cker nicked it"
You couldn't make it up.

I cant wait to go back to Scotland to walk/climb and seeing those pictures isnt going to help me work today, or help the bank balance when later on I decide I cant take it any more and book something
But thanks, I'm sure it will be a class trip as usual
