Well I thought it was a good idea a week ago when I started. Not so sure now... but hey, I'll give it a go. Whadayarec? It isn't 'live' yet, so I can still bottle out. scratchchin

Good idea! But could you please leave the EXIF so that we'd know you are not cheating.

Good luck!

Bloody brilliant idea!

The 365th day could be a collage of all the images put together.

I don't mind stiching or any editing. It's the date and time that I'm concerned about.

God, no. I did "Pic-a-day for a Month" in July and it was an absolute bitch.

Even if I lived in the Highlands, or Arran where I am now, there's no way I could manage to come up with something interesting for 365 days.

Good luck though

I was out at the local fireworks party tonight and took 300 pics.

299 were crap and one was ok (which has replaced the one from this morning)

I therefore have a hit rate of 300 (crap) : 1 (OK)

Hmm.

Compilation time?

Best of?

I think the idea is great but those that attempt it seem to need compromise and time off.

If you have not visited the Daily Exposure before have a look - but maybe start at the beginning rather than with the end (or what seems to be the end) which is where this url will take you.

Steve, if you are going to do this, and I personally think it looks wonderful, would it also be worth hard fixing a (cheap) camera on one of your favourite views, then shooting a shot a day. I know its been done before, but your vistas are outstanding.

Cheers.

I actually did this from the front of my garden up here for 6 months in 2003 (then I had to return south and work!).

It's something I've been considering. I am also looking at a hi res wireless outdoor webcam (to be placed in the same position) but it's bloody expensive (over a grand) and I'm skint at the moment.

Here is the position I installed the camera (and would mount the webcam) (pic from 2003)

A Grand ? . . . I suspect one could engineer a much cheaper but probably higher quality solution . . . what resolution were you thinking ?

Hi FD

Well to be honest it's no so much the res as the wireless and waterproof bit I'm having trouble sourcing. I've got wireless broadband here so 'shirly' it must be a possibility. I'd like to put a permanent decent quality webcam on www.Torridon.org - but most of the outdoor ones seem CCTV orientated and the domestic webcams are a/ mostly crap and b/ not at all weatherproof. If I'm going to do it, it'd be nice to be able to broadcast decent images!

(edit to add - the site for the proposed cam (as above) is 10 metres from my house and I can get a wireless signal there)

It looks a good idea, but hard work like everyone has said. At least you have kept it quiet and not told anyone that will keep on at you about it...
Now all you need is a piece of music a day to go with them!

Have you checked out the PAD galleries over a pbase - www.pbase.com/pad , lot's of people do it over there with varying quality or participants. I know someone who did it for a year and was pulling his hair out by the end of it but he did say it had helped him alot
