Second one would be great if you could light in such a way that would put the shadows out of shot.

Hmmm, I dont agree...without the shadows it looks like a photoshop montage (which it isnt ) Thanks for the comment!

To be honest I think they look quite staged - almost as if you did use fishing wire. I guess I would expect more movement in the shot, but they look very static.

Of course you may have been aiming for a static looking shot, and besides I'm a total numpty when it comes to photography so feel free to disragard the comment above!!

I'm surprised. I'm sure there's some narrow gauge stuff that would suit. I'm comign at this from the "this took ages" angle btw, not the quality of the shots themselves.

Love it. Ive been planning some more levitating food shots for ages. Praps I lack visual skepticism, but I always find them thought prevoking, right down to the cover on top of the stack which seems to be opening by itself.

Explosion or poltergeist? If the rest of the stack appeared to be shifting and some movement suggested It'd work(ish) but with the CD vertical it just looks like a cd hanging on wire.
Also not sure about using Jewel cases with the sleeves. I just looked at the CD names... Maybe not the best subject choice. Sorry, just my 5p worth.

Sprinkle shredded cabbage at the base of the stack, brush with oil and you're done.

I actually quite like that now. Know why? The CD being ejected seems to follow the laws of physics, if you see what I mean. I can just see that setup near to a hifi sytem with a caption saying something like "Bose* - bringing music to life".

*Other makes of hifi are avaialble.

And yes, as the resident fire starter, some flames would be nice...

it cracks me up.. I can imagine how fiddly and frustrating that was just to get the shot.. I'm laughing to myself thinking about it now!
