Was really looking forward to last night - tripod all set up, remote release purchased, and the weather held out too! Really enjoyed doing it and was pleasantly surprised at the results too.

Did scout out the location a couple of days ago (didn't want to get bundled over by crowds) and it seemed to work well. Definitely going back next year!

Comments muchly appreciated. These are pretty much just crops; a couple have level adjustment but only 2 or 3. There is some smudge type affect on the later ones; I took some black card to use and I think it was that reflecting a bit while I was holding it in front of the lens irked Ah well, we live and learn...

All taken in "bulb" mode, and F/13 or F/16 at 18mm (and then cropped, except for the last one....which was the biggest firework EVER!!! hehe)

As I say, comments really appreciated I am learning...!

Hi Tony,

Great shots! I definitely like the fact you've captured the trees and funfair to give a bit of scale to them

Number three is best for me as it shows some context to the scene and good clean fireworks.

Tony nice shots, your's have come out better than mine. I think you were further away than I was, so I spent most of the 5 minute display chasing fireworks across the skies. So next year I need to be further away or maybe this is the justification I need for a wider angle lens

Here's a few of mine:

Thanks everyone thumbup

I did a bit of a reccy a couple of days ago to work out where to go. Not knowing how high they would go I stood a long way back and used an 18mm lens to make sure I got it. The only firework I didn't get was the final one because it was so damn huge!! This is an uncropped version of one above...it shows you that I captured a lot to make sure I had image to play with...

(remember, uncropped and unplayed with so don't judge!)
