Another trip north of the border, and this time over the water too, to the island of Arran for bonfire night. There's something rather reassuring about an island that has so few roads (including the excellent String Road) that even I cannot get lost

Moo?

I think #4 would have been a fave but the dark land and burned out RHS - perhaps reduce the contrast ? . . . but probably very difficult . . . the last one too . . . can you make the sun smaller . . . ?

I've been replacing the fleet so stuck at home and subject to the local barrage of fireworks in the woods . . . lucky fscker being up in Arran ;-) . . . and I believe you're moving north ?

I was autotesting on Sat in a J reg VW polo - which we destroyed over the course of the day . . . it had head gasket failure before we started on it . . . now it's gubbed despite pouring 3 gallons of water into it . . . some pics from the Iraqi supergun 300mm/2.8 Nikkor when I can be bothered to select some . . . I think it's time to put a hydraulic handbrake into my caterham . . .

Ta - I've given up trying to figure out dates to be honest, or pin my hopes on any particular day. It'll happen when it happens.

Here's a panoramic from the walk to King's Cave near Machrie Moor

(a bit wonky on the stitching at one point but it was automated and cba to adjust it )

A lovely place, used to holiday there every year as a kid & returned a year or two ago with the crinklies.

Always amuses me

Also acts as my wallpaper

I need to explore the "features" more next year I think. That walk to Kings Cave was the first time I'd done anything other than drive around the island occassionally stopping to take pics. Oh and wander Brodick Castle last year.

Was up in the summer too

We..er..blocked the roads a bit

It's the kind of place I love going to, to relax, but I can't quite see me living there. Yet I can totally appreciate why people do. If that makes sense.
