Joey has been doing still photography work for less than 2 years, and his first pictures were done with a 1 megapixel point and shoot. Although he has upgraded equipment since then, some images from that first camera are still shown in these galleries. He shows the eye behind the camera is more important than the equipment itself.
clicky This man clearly has the creative eye and oodles of talent, top stuff!

I bought a photography book the other day called "figure and ground" by richard renaldi. A stunning set of street portraits shot using an 8x10 camera. The photos are amazing, and there is something so pure and crisp about the results of exposing huge bits of film with basic, yet optically superb equipment, and evidence (if you ever needed it) that post processing can be as much of a distraction and cover up as it can be a good thing. Joey Lawrence's shots just give me a headache.
Incidentally other good photography books I've bought this week:
David LaChapelle's heaven to hell
Ansel Adam's the negative
Lee Frost's guides to panoramic and low light photography
Matt

To echo comments already made; too much PP for my liking.
Undoubtedly a talented lad though
I purchased this yesterday but am yet to have a look

I'd love to see how they look without being fed through his pc...
Yeah, bit too much "touching"...
Still very creative there is no doubt, but I'd question the photography side.
Just digital art rarther than "photography"...
Dave
I love his artistic shots. The level of styling and attention to detail is staggering. I think his candid and band photography is weak though. He clearly is an incredibly talented young man with amazing creative potential. I'd be very interested to see where he is and how his work develops in a few years time. I think he'd make a good director too.
