I want to see what my Puma's wheels would look like in anthracite or graphite coated, but my previous attempts on photoshop have looked awful. I'd like to do a whole wheel coating mock up and one leaving a "polished rim" mock up, leaving a band of silver around the edge.

Can someone give me a step by step guide of how to do this? Thanks

the way i do it is to use the magnetic lassoo (sp) tool. go around the alloy then right click and layer via copy. select the new layer to work in and the go to image - adjustments - hue/saturation and drop the saturation down. then have a play with the contrast and brightness. should give you a rough effect of what they'll look like.

I really need a better picture of my wheels (will do this weekend hopefully), but I've just done this using your method:

Is that the right sort of colour/shade for graphite coated wheels? Thanks
