Film recommendations

Just taken delivery of a Canon A1 and a couple of lenses from a mate whose business is entirely digital now.



Does anyone have any recommendations for particular brands or "models" of film? To start with I'm after something that's not expensive to buy or process as I'm sure it'll take me a fair while to get to grips with it

Got one like that sitting on my shelf here.

I preferred Fuji Reala. Nice colours..

color or b&w?

Fuji Velvia for vivid staurated colors
Portra 160vc for a more natural look and a wider exposure latitude
Tri-x 400 develped in Rodinal for that classic b&w look
