How erm "basic" are you willing to go?

I know a place in Aultbea that's adequate. Nothing special. Apart from the 300 bottles of whisky behind the bar. Think it was about 40-50 quid a night. Nice enough place and couple running it but nothing to write home about.

That main hotel looks nice doesn't it.

For more reasonable how about trying the lodge associated with it.

BenDamph Much more basic but prices are way way lower

I've stayed here and whatever it costs it's worth it. Food is excellent. Views excellent. Rooms characterful and very comfortable.

If you want someplace less expensive right next to this place and under the same ownership is the Ben Damph inn. Didn't stay there I'm afraid...

Loch Torridon Hotel website said:
Rates are per room ( two sharing) per night and inclusive of VAT at 17.5%. Service is not included."
Are they saying there's service on top of the room price? Not come across that before..

I don't recall being charged any extra on top of the room rate. Although when signing off dinner maybe one should tip...

It's 385 miles from my gaff to Loch T. so I thought I'd fly to Inverness and hire a car as it only cost £120 more and I won't have to spend days on a motorway. Then I find out it's 185 miles from Iverness airport to the loch!

Its 67.9 miles from Inverness Airport to the hotel. And its lovely roads too. We spend a week up there a couple of years back. If I was going for a fortnight I'd have driven up. Since it was just a week we flew and hired a landy to get about - well, well worth it.

its certainly not 185 miles from Inverness.....but its a stunning drive...Loch Ness etc.....did it in back then in a Corrado VR6......still one of my top 10 drives
Beware though...petrol stations are rarer than Tony Blair telling the truth...

AH HA!

It's 90 mins from the airport... when are you coming and for how long? I have some sway there

Also.. If you fancy a Lambo, Zonda, Bentley or Koenigsegg as a hire car... I know a man that can.

AA route finder says 184 miles..Tom Tom says 60.8 miles(96mins you bad boy )..how does that work?

Thinking of 2nd week in July for a week-ish.

Will they discount for all four?

Midgetastic. That is going to hurt. Get some serious midge repellant and even a midge hood if you will be walking. Those little blighters are just devastating. We normally go in early June...which doesn't help at all.

...and you really have to do it in July? - crowded, midges, wet. (and is that four people or four weeks?!)
