Is it that grainy or did you make it so?

Decided to make it a bit grainy to add atmosphere. I also needed something to stop the sky looking a bit bland and burned out as the image is for digital projection. Has anyone else had problems with projectors that tend to burn out highlights and block up shadows at the same time ?
