Kandy K and the Model T
Discussion
Hmm.
The Illustrated Woman.
Great shots. The rod makes a good prop. I think the last shot in particular is a real cracker the way it matches the turquoise in the tattoo on her back to the colour of the containers. Have to ask - was that mainly down to luck (or photoshop? surely not) or did you match the model and location specifically. If so, in which order did you pick them?

LongQ I booked the model about 10 days ago then set out to find a car, which I did on Tuesday through another forum (and have some other great Rods lined up too) the location scouting was done this morning. We couldn't shoot for too long as it was too cold! I noticed that the patch on the container matched the colour of the tats and took that shot accordingly. So it was kind of luck but I had spotted the oportunity at the time if you know what I mean

Excellent!
Sort of an added bonus I guess but the ability to spot the opportunity and then make good use of it is, for me, a sign of special talent. Especially as you were shooting against the clock and the elements!
Brilliant.
And thanks for sharing how it all came together.

No probs
The other part I forgot to say was once the car was agreed I spoke to the model about what to wear and told her to wear something contrasting to blue on the colour wheel so she would pop out in the photo. The pink tights certainly did the job!
Thanks guys
Don't know who did the tats or "ink" as I believe the kids are calling it these days but it's probably someone in Holloway as she was off there to get some more work done after the shoot.
If anyone is wondering about the vignetting in number 9 that's what a P series Cokin Circular polariser looks like at 24mm on a 5D when put on the end of a Canon protect filter. I thought it suited the shoot though

I reckon no.6 would benefit from some vignetting too

I think you could well be right

Great photos!
A shame that the rug she is kneeling on in the 'reflection' picture is visible - I find it a distraction. I realise the ground was probably cold, hard and wet but you probably needed to talk her into removing the rug!

Yeah, it was that or brown marks on her tights. You should have seen the state of me when I got in I was covered in mud from laying on the ground. Wife always wonders what I've been up to I think!

Just out of interest: March issue of 'Maxim' page 110. 8 page spread. My niece.
I think that probably makes me officially old.
I think that probably makes me officially old.
I felt old when I was doing this on Sunday when her and her friend said they had only had two hours sleep the night before and still they were fresh and wide awake. It was either youth or drugs I guess

Mmmmm. I wasn't sure how to feel when my niece made the cover of Proffesional Photographer magazine.
Martin.
Must be a wierd feeling.

I love the way the girl and the car are "standing" the same way in this one. It's as if they're mirroring each others body language. Excellent
Thanks, things like that used to happen either subconciously or by luck I guess but I'm actually engineering this stuff now
As you can see the shot of her back is also the back of the car too
Slowly learning I guess
