Can anyone suggest a good car camera mount?? I have had a look about and found the following..

Has anyone used this type before and how good are they? I quiet like the idea of the Model SM1 as it looks quiet sturdy.

I have a Cullman suction mount and it works very well.
Supported a Canon XL-1 attached to an Elise going round Knockhill.

I found the SM1 doesn't fit all curved windscreens. So I went for the smaller SM2 and an extension arm, does the joib nicely.

I also have one and they work well - as stated if the screen is too curved you'll have a problem, and also - never leave them on in very bright sun as thay can crack the glass.

Thanks for the input. I think the stang's windscreen is not to curved. The only thing that put me off the SM2 was they advised not to use on the windscreen.

I had an SM1, and currently have an SM2 and an SM4.

The SM1 was fine for holding my Canon MiniDV camera and held my 20D stills camera but wasn't rigid enough to avoid vibration for that use hence me getting the SM4. I only use the SM2 for mounting my bullet camera and it works brilliantly for that role.
