I am looking for a new walka round lense. I currently use the Sigma 24 - 70 Ex and even though this is a good lense, I find it quite often hasn't got enough reach.

So does it make sanse to dop the F2.8 to F2.4 to gain the extra reach???

unless you go for the sigma 50-150 or tokina 50-135 f2.8 or 70-200 f2.8 (heavier) you'll miss the 2.8 though

If you need f2.8, then there's no substitute, but I love my 24-105. It's so versatile. In fact I thought I might miss the extra reach I had with 28-135, but I haven't.

Have they sorted all the original problems with this lens? There was some sort of recall IIRC?
