I've got a little red X on my desktop...is it the same for everyone or is it just my machine?

That's 'cos I used the D50, not the D2X.

Mind you... not bad for 7 miles away - there's some life in the little'un.

Whay have I still got sheep?

It seems my one only changes about every 36 hours.

I missed the sunk boat altogether!

On the top of the active desktop window... wait for the dropdown arrow, then properties> schedule> edit; and change to every 24 hours (time of your choice).

Out of interest Mr C, how come none of your shots have any exif data ? Is it a commercial decision or just what happens in ps ?

Oh, and how much shrubbery (if any) is involved in your pics ?

I use PSP (much quicker) which seems to ditch the exif when resized to jpg (either that or PSP doesn't load it) - I only use ye olde posh shoppe if I'm going to print or muck about. I'm a lazy Get and never even look at data... generally though I have in the bag: the D2X with the Nikkor 17-55 and Lee Grad filter stuck on, inevitably set to apature priority - and the D50 with the Nikkor 80-400 set to speed priority (for any passing wildlife or planes). I assume if I used PS instead of PSP it would hold the exof data when I resize? (I'll try today).

In PSP each day I crop and resize (to the same size), get rid of any visible dust marks, sharpen and often add contrast. Very occasionally I'll mess with colour (to try and get it to what it looked like) e.g. 5th Feb added some, 13th Feb took some away. The whole process usually takes about 2 mins. (I'm supposed to have a job & life).

If I had started this lark in Spring it would have been easy, but have to say it's been a bit of a challenge trying to get a decent pic during bad weather. I'm trying to vary as much as possible (I'm sure people are sick of bloody flowing water shots). Right, sun's out (weather forecast wrong again) ... grab bag and off out.

There you go... I've bunged one up using PS and it holds the exif. www.stevecarter.com/picaday/feb17.jpg

edit: I've just replaced that one using PS and when I cropped it, I lost the exif.

Ideas for pics...

1) Charlie in front of Aston
2) Charlie sitting in Aston
3) Charlie driving Aston
4) Mrs Get in front of Aston
5) Mrs Get sitting in Aston
6) Mrs Get (scantilly clad) draped across the bonnet of Aston (would never suggest she drive it...wouldn't want to offend you)

I *think* PS loses it on "Save for Web" rather than just "Save". Could be wrong though.
