HD video cameras

hi all,

anyone got any recommendations on theses so far it just seems to be a choice between cannon and sony.

what s/w can be used to edit hd video and can i play these back on my hd tv with out having to use a blue ray or hddvd player?

On Mac you can edit with iMovie HD (free with the Mac) and with Final Cut Pro HD. No easy way right now to burn your HD edits so that you can play them back, but you can certainly play tapes out from a Sony to an HD tv via component out

The new Canon HV-10 with 1080i HD recording is great, and I was all set to get one but there's one massive failing for me - no digital (ie: HDMI) output, which I'd really like.

Everything else it had - firewire in/out, analogue to digital etc. Gutted.
