Just got an email from the Scottish Motorshow organisers asking if they can use some of my photos for their website and promotional material.
Now the age old dilemma - exposure vs remuneration. It's not a charitable organisation as I recall (and neither am I
) but yet it's not a hugely famous one either.
So that's one to ponder. But really what I wanted to ask you lot was, any idea of figures should I opt for the payment suggestion route?

Cant help with figures, but now would be a good time to ask for copies of all main material its being used in, as they wont say no.

also just one more thing ........ be carefull as you are not suposed to sell images that are hosted on Flickr
i have heard of people being booted off if they have sold from there

It's more that the flickr T&Cs do not allow you to use flickr as a host for advertising photos for sale, or as storage for use when linking to the photos from other sites. Unsolicited approaches from people to use your photos are quite common on flickr, and I don't believe they have a problem with this. Only if you use your account to actively flog 'em.
There are some areas which are a bit more grey, such as www.scoopt.com which if you sign up will scan your flickr photostream for any photos tagged with scoopt and then add them to their stock library for potential sale.
