EVO vs CAR: Photography?
Discussion
Following Wilko's thread, I trotted off to the newsagent to buy Car magazine for the first time in over 2 years.
I've always preferred Evo's writing style, and being a subscriber had never really felt the need to buy Car.
Wow! Evo looks very very dated compared to Car these days, with their photography in particular being very dowdy. Evo's photography used to be top notch, but its quite bland and boring these days IMO.
Anybody else share these thoughts?

............. will get a copy of car tommorw and compare i just like to read evo realy motoring photography is a love but its something i love to do as a lot of the quality is always lost in the print ... actluy i think i dont relay look at a lot of the pics as theres no info about the camera so my mid switches to car
I think that the evo chaps are very good at the photography that they do but with their limited budget and 13 issues a year they have, by necessity, become a little formulaic which is a shame. The other thing that I feel leads to their shoots all looking the same is the way that the emphasis in their tests is on the driving so they often end up with the tests alol being done in North Wales, North Yorkshire or other countryside locations. Hence they all have the scenic shots but this means there is not that much that can be done to make them look that different.
Car does seem to allow more creative freedom to their photographers leading to more variety in the shoots and hence more expression.
