Canon 400D's Sensor Cleaning System?
Hi all,
Has anyone got any experience as to whether the Sensor Cleaning System on the 400D really works?
I’ve got a 1D MK II N and I’m considering upgrading to the 1D MK III on the basis that the sensor cleaning system really works.
Thanks in advance.
Well as it is my first DSLR I have nothing to compare it against so it is hard to tell. What I can say is that after approx 6 months of ownership, and about 3000 exposures, I have one persistent dust spot on my sensor.
I've had my 400D for a while now and do change lenses fairly frequently while out and about.
So far (touch wood) have had no problems at all with dust on the sensor, while with my 1D MK1 i seem to get dust on the sensor in similar conditions.
I'd say if you're thinking of a 1D MKIII just as I am then you should definately gopher it !!!
evening all,
in regard to 400d ,ive had mine for 5 months and ive really give it some, but i have a dust spot, that would seem like it'll take a force 10 to shift it.
Doesnt sound like it works all that well TBH, nore a feature to put on the box.
For reference I didnt clean my 350d sensor for nearly a year, I still think even with the 400d your going to need a rocker blower.
Hmm not in any way an expert but AM thinking of buying one of these (and modding it) for astro use, plse keep replies coming

I had a look inside mine the other day. I've taken over 6000 photos with it, changing lenses all the time and though on my photos I don't have any spots etc it was looking a bit dusty inside. I'm going to invest in a cleaning kit.
