ive gorwn tired of my tri pod being far to flimsy so need something solid (enough to support a d200 with 80 - 400mm) on it

Another option is ther Gitzo carbon fibre ones. I use the 4 piece mountaineer and it handles D2X with 200-400.

Tripods are a mine field in that there are so many options but Manfrotto 055 Pro and 322RC2 works for me!

After reading lots and fiddling with a few at Focus, I have snaffled up an 055 on fleabay - just waiting for it to arrive.

Can't see how I could go wrong!

Also a 222 head - initally I was dubious when I tried them at Focus, but I'm looking forward to "giving it a whirl".

Was very disappointed when getting my mits on anything other than the Manfrotto range. Nothing seems to be quite so well engineered and designed. (Although anything's better than the crappy sticks of excuses for 'pods I currently use - or rather don't bother with because they're so useless!)

was in jesspops droping some stuff in and they had a Manfrotto 055 Pro and i must say its very nice think i will be getting that thanks for all the help thow
