DV Camera suggestions please (I know, I know)...

[roop]

I plan on making a series of short videos to be compiled onto DVD. They will all revolve around the Sierra RS500. As a part of this I have bought myself a bullet camera and suction mount so that I can get some shots from the outside of the car. I deliberately bought a high specification bullet (520TVL resolution, SONY CCD etc...) and now need an appropriate DV camera.

Now I know that I need one with AV inputs, but what I want to do is combine my bullet cam with a mic, so the queries are... :

Do any DV cameras with AV in (such as the Canons) simultaneously record from the built in mic and external video input (bullet cam)...?

If I want to use an external mic with the bullet, do I need a mic that will feed line-level via the AV in, or are there cameras that will accept the composite from the camera plus sound via and external mic jack (not the a/v socket)...?

Suggestions on a postcard - thanks in advance...
