I read abot this a while ago but never properly tried it out so the other day i taped my 18-55mm kit lens to the front of my 50mm 1.8. Found it quite hard because the DOF was so thin and had to take lots of shots to get a decent one but in the end i was quite surprised, they came out better than i thought they would. Its made me want a real macro lens now but no money for one. Was wondering what kind of difference using a longer lens like this would make as im going to buy a 70-200mm in the next couple of months.

just sat the camera on my desk on my mousemat inline with the edge and took a pic and if it wasnt in focus slid the mat forward and took another one till i got one that was in focus, took quite a few shots to get it right but had nothing else to do with my time lol
