Visited Chatsworth for the TVR gathering on Sunday - also had a look round his Lordship's gaff. Most impressive! Here are some pics, all ISO 400:

If you haven't been inside, I recommend it - it's a real eye opener!

Very nice pics - were you bracing yourself against doorways etc? If they were handheld then you have a very decent camera and a steady hand!

Thanks chaps - shutter speeds ranged from 1/6s to 1/80s and it was all hand held (breath held too - no bracing), and I was very pleasantly surprised with their sharpness considering.

I was using a 5D with a 17-40mm at f4 - I love that camera!

I could have guessed it'd be the mighty 5D

Steve - when are you going to jump ship, and join the sophisticates?

Every time I see a pic from a 5D it makes me want one.

For sale, loads of Nikon gear. Never raced or rallied.

Lovely pictures. We're planning to go to Chatsworth this week sometime. I'll have to see if I can match your standard!

Lovely pics Timmy... but you forgot the other library

and the lovely grounds

Damnit, I wish I had my SLR back then!!

Top place to visit, and I normally don't like stately homes and the like. Good food in the orangery and nice beer that I believe they brew themselves...

Well I actually did get the library - my favourite room in the house as it happens but it wasn't as good as the others - 1/5s handheld whilst jostling for space - pesky tourists!

The other room that was a challenge was the bedroom - very dark:

We didn't do the gardens though which was a shame - I love your panoramic.

For those who have yet to go - none of the wardens objected to those people using flash, so don't do what I did and assume it would not be allowed! I'm not sure tripods would be welcome though!!
