Following on from this thread I was thinking that maybe getting something moderately weather proof might not be a bad idea as I will be lugging it up moutains etc.

Has anyone had any problems with a damp D80? I'm not so concerned about rain ingress as when its raining I can keep it dry, but more about just very damp/foggy air causing problems.

Alternatively the Pentax K10d is meant to the weatherproof, but I'm concerned about image quality as the examples on dpreview dont look great. So does anyone have an experience with one, and if so how did you find it?

Cheers
Hugh

D80 is not weather proof like the D200 or K10D

I'm aware that it wont tolerate being used in rain without some protection. What I was trying to ask is whether there have been any problems when using the camera in damp (e.g. foggy) conditions?

Or perhaps more useful, whether anyone has used theirs up mountains etc etc. without problems?

Cheers
