Subject - "The Changing Seasons"

What, to you, captures the essence of seasons changing ? Winter to spring, spring to summer, summer to autumn and autumn to winter - anyone or all of these. Is it the colours, the flora and fauna or, perhaps, someone's attitude in reaction to increasing or decreasing hours of daylight ?

(I hope I've done this correctly and my apologies if not.)

Daimeydum, could you possibly resize your photos please. Up to 750px wide and <100kb is usually recommended.

Thanks

My Azalea normally comes out between spring and summer, it's been a bit early this year. I'd been wanting to photograph it a couple of weeks ago in the brilliant sunshine we had but it was only just in bud.

Then on Monday dull day all around, tipping it down with rain, and then at about 4pm the rain stopped and for a brief moment the sun came out and everything was perfect.

Very pretty indeed.

Technical question I know, but (and I'm probably too lazy to read how to in a book) how do you do the framing?

Luca, it's dead easy, I use Paint Shop Pro X (although the same function is in version 7) and I think it's in PS as well. In the Image menu, just add borders, first do it with 2px white symetric, then do it again 50px black symetric. Dead easy really.

I can do the framing but how (Rhubarb) do you get the background so black? Even with shallow DOF and flash none of my macro stuff comes out like that

Luca - are you on Photoshop? If you are, I've got some actions I could send you for frames. Not that I've used them myself... lol

There's also a good tutorial and action here:-

Lots of other interesting stuff on that site also.
