Phoenix 0.25x Super Fisheye lens
Discussion
If I end up going with the D40, I wanted to add a Fish Eye lens
I fell off my seat when viewing the Nikon prices, so does anyone have any knowledge or
comments about this cheap alternative, the Phoenix 0.25x Super Fisheye lens?
I also need to confirm it would work with the Nikon D40?
"Mounts to the filter threads of almost any digital or film SLR lens with series 7
adapter rings - 4 adapter rings are included: 49mm, 52mm, 55mm & 58mm"

Add-on fisheye adapters are pretty good value when you consider the price of a real fisheye. I think the Nikon 8mm is over £500. I bought an 'opteka' adapter from ebay for £38. They are not that sharp at the edges, but offer a nice fisheye effect. So if you can deal with edge softness and a little chromatic aberration, they're not bad.

The other cheap alternative is a Peleng lens from ebay, they are shipped from Russia for about £130 all in. They are apparently sharper, but still not close to the proper (expensive) stuff. No AutoFocus with them either.
