I still have an ancient camcorder that uses mini Hi-8 tapes (I think). Whatever tape it uses, it's definitely analogue. I know it is possible to buy an analogue to digital converter that will allow me to transfer my films to my PC for editing.

However, I was thinking about a DVD recorder and was wondering what type of inputs it has. Does it have phono style inputs that would allow me to plug my camcorder in to record direct to DVD, which could then be used to get the files on to my PC?

A DVD recorder should ahve anything from composite, svid, rgb inputs for recording from I'm guessing, depending.

Editing will be a problem tho, much better feeding it into a PC and working a DVD out of that.
