My Boss knows that i like photography and brought in a photo that she wanted restored. This was taken of her in 1968 and had seen better days. So i had a crack at it for her and we were both happy with the outcome.

As you can see there was a lot of the image that needed to be built up.

I was going to say that you'd missed some smudges, until I realised they were wood grain!

Nice change by adding the colour - what programme did you use for that?

Matt,

I used photoshop, just select areas you want to apply colour to then Adjust->Variations.

Takes a while, this was done quickly as a demo.

I originally saw this done on a photo of a concert at a sports ground, the person that re-coloured it had to apply colour to all the faces/clothes in the crowd by highlights them all 1 at a time. It must have taken him hours!!

Repost from a couple of years ago:-

My mum found a couple of pictures of her parents taken on their honeymoon, probably from the late nineteen twenties. Unfortunately, they had obviously had to taken seperate photos of themselves as no-one was around to take one of them together.

Mum asked if I could do anything with them, and we were all pleased with the result :-
