After being inspired by a tutorial in a camera mag, me and my housemates had a laugh and produced a few Multi-exposures. First time I have really used photoshop, so Im quite pleased with the results.

Pleased to say I was the photographer, so I escape the humiliation of being in the shots.

Enjoy.....

Any comments welcome!

Mow that lawn! :P

Like them all. Might try this myself, if the GF is willing to model!

BTW, which mag was this in?

1 and 2 are best. I was thinking about trying this too, having been inspired by that nice icelandic girls flickr site that was referred to on here last week.

How did you do that? When you say multi exposure do you mean you simply had a tripod mounted camera, took a shot, model moved, took another shot etc. so you had 6 (say) shots with identical background but different model.

Did you then put all 6 photos over one another in photoshop, or cut out the individual and paste that in to photo number 1? (which would not look as good as you've done it I don't think...yours looks good, but cutting out the model would look a bit wibbly I think?!)

I like them!

Thanks for your comments, glad you like them.

I saw it in the June issue of 'Digital Photo' magazine. It looked like fun, so I went out yestarday afternoon and bought a tripod and that was the result.

Tony,

That is pretty much exactly how it was done. You layer them up one by one, and then erase through the layers to get the models from underneath. It really was suprisingly easy.

I'm hoping to try it with some better loactions soon. The example in the magazine was a guy posing around and MX-5.

And yeah, the lawn really could do with a bit of a trim!

ah right, so it wasn't cutting as such more just rubbing out certain bits.

I'm going to have a play with that - thanks biggrin

Like them. Just thinking of where and how it could be used to full effect...hmmm ponders.

It really is a good laugh, I would recommend having a go.

If anyone does have a go, post them up. Will be interesting to see other peoples ideas.

This technique is used by bmx/skate/bike/car photographers for action sequences.

comments welcome !

Pretty cool. Don't forget to use the timer option to limit camera shake when you press the buton !

I like that shot, it's a really good application of the process!

Timer, or remote release (which are surprisingly inexpensive) - you're absolutely right.

Unless you've got a D200, then they are fairly dear!

You don't have to use multiple images of the same person, you can use this to combine several points in time.

This example shows a fairly empty shopping centre being made busier - the first pic shows the components that make up the left-hand side of the finished image.

That is true, but unless you use the same person there is no evidence that you haven't just taken the photo at a different time. But I imagine that is plenty of people have used the technique for that effect.

But yeah, the method does have different uses.
