shot using ilford XP2 400, process at 1hour place scanned by me using crappy flat bed. makes not bad 10x8s though. printed these out on Hahnemuhle photorag and I'm quite impressed. seems my venture into B&W film is going to last longer. all taken with 135 f2 L

Lovely model, but the portrait does nothing for me.

The dog shot is quite cool, but the bokeh looks a lot choppier than I'd expect of the 135L.

The leaf is awesome, and ridiculously sharp. I'd consider removing the two droplets which have made their way off the leaf itself.

I'm not sure I see the point of shooting 35mm film when digital could be argued to be better. Why not make the jump to medium format?

I think that's the point . . . perhaps it isn't, I've not seen monochrome digital sourced stuff that truly compares with real film . . .

Depends what you're comparing I guess. I get similar results from both. Although that probably says more about me wink

Digital:

Scanned B&W

the wife will be please with that comment lol the bokeh is crap cause of poor scanning and what is actually there.

the reason fr the B&W film is that its just better than what I can get with digital. there may be people that can process colour into B&W better but not me. tones and blacks are better with film. as for medium format I'm going to get a broncia ETRS when I'm satified film gives me what I want. etrs with 150mm lens will set me back £200, where as shooting with my bro inlaws EoS costs me nothing
