Some Le Mans race pics

Great weekend at Le Mans, went armed with new Sigma 120-300 and besides being a heavy old beast it seems to perform, although a bit slow to focus initially. Anyway with all good intentions I thought I'd make the sunrise, but at 1:30 it was blummin cold, so I went back to my tent for a coat, but unfortunately the sleeping bag won (probably down to the heavy night before) and I missed it again, woke up at 5:30 to bright sunshine - bugger. Still there's always next year. Anyway here's some race pics.....

Great pics, especially in the wet - do you have #12 (Wet Aston) in High res? I fancy that as my desktop background!

Cheers for the comments, the rain really does make a difference, as long as you don't mind getting wet. All of the shots were taken from spectatorville, just found gaps in fences, blagged my way into a few of the stands and had a grandstand seat in the tribunes above the pit lane. I also bought a storm cover a little while ago, so while I was sodden through the gear kept pretty dry, it's the only way I could get shots 13 and 14.

Great shots. Did you manage to get any of the Gregor Fisken Aston 006 or the white Ford France GT40 that led the Driver's Parade on Friday evening and did a couple of laps before the race as part of the Legends Cavalcade on Saturday ?

How many did you take over the w.end? I managed 800 pics, with 100 in RAW only to find my raw software has gone nuts & won't work! Managed to sort out circa 85 shots and have had 3,000 hits on my pbase account (no comment yet though)! Feel free to slag off
