Hi guys,

Have recently bought a 400D and absolutely loving it. smile

I also bought a T2 converter for the camera so that I could use a whole bunch of older, traditional lenses that had been left to me many years ago.

Now these lenses work fine at medium and macro ranges but they will not focus at infinity. At any distance greater than a few meters the images just blurs. I took the T2 adaptor off and just held the lense flush with the front surface of the camera and the range increased a little but it was still blured at infinity, so I guess it's a focal length problem...?? but, can this be resolved ? Can the camera be calibrated in some way ? or, do you just have to accept that you can't take landscapes with older lenses?

Also thought I should mention that there is nothing wrong with the lenses themselves as they focus perfectly well on my 35mm SLR.

Any ideas ??

Cheers

G

I can only assume the T2 adaptor is acting like an extention tube. an extention tube will reduce min focus distance at the expense of infinity focus

I guess it would do that but even with no T2 adaptor attached and the old lens just held flush to the face plate/front surface of the camera it is still blured at infinity. I was hoping this might be a common problem!?! confused

Ahhh... think I may have solved it..!!

The T2 mount is an M42 as are the lenses but the lenses have, what looks like a wider pitch on the threads. So although the lenses attach they don't wind in properly, causing the effect you suggested Poah.

I've no idea if there is an adaptor for this type of M42 thread ?? The lenses themselves are pretty old (1980's or older).

Anyone have an ideas for an adaptor ??
