On the way to the 'ring at the weekend we stopped off at Roermond in the Netherlands. The centre is very traditional European, small narrow streets with many tree lined squares, very atmospheric. Anyway, there was a celebration on (I presume) the town's liberation at the end of the war, thus there was many many vehicles and 'actors' all looking the part for some terrific photo opportunitie's.

This one was my pick of the bunch, managed to capture him just before he clicked on what I was doing biggrin I still can't decide if it work's best as B&W or colour tho.

Great Picture, it does look very good in BW.

Lovely town, I spent my latter teenage years going out in Roermond, learning about girls and beer...

If you check some of the buildings out they still have the bullet holes from ww2 which they keep with pride.

Did you notice if the British pub was there? I think it was called "The George" in the main square, may have been restyled now that Bruggen has closed.

It is a lovely place, I only wish Bruggen was still an option for us to go to, really can't imagine anywhere better to drink and drive cheaply for a few years!

I don't think The George is there, certainly not that I noticed anyway. There is a pub called Jill Murphy's which is a wee bit British styled, Im not sure if this would have been the one though.
