Am relatively happy using Ye Olde Photoshoppe. Wondered if anyone's gone from "full fat" version to Elements? Would you miss anything in practice when main use is photo tarting?

I'd like to know the answer to this as well!!! And has anybody had snags with it running on an older PC with an AMD Athlon processor??

(sorry if it's a bit a thread hijack!)

I have been using Photoshop elements for years, as it came with an old Nikon P&S I had

now I have started getting into the photography lark, I Downloaded and installed Photoshop CS3. My poor laptop, with 1.6 ghz mobile pentium 4

struggles VERY badly, but it struggles just loading full fat jpegs anyway..

so Upgrade to proper PC is imminent

I only use full fat PS once every few weeks, the only things I tend to do are crop, remove dust, add shadow, resize for web and sharpen. I can do that in about 10 seconds in Paint Shop Pro.

However, just so often ....

Thanks so far. Planning what to load on a laptop for a fall roadtrip.

Processor speed isn't usually that much of a problem (unless you are using some of the fancier functions) but lack of memory is. If you haven't already maxed out your PC's memory, then consider investing a few quid in some more RAM. Also, if your graphics card is old, or is an onboard/integrated graphics chipset, consider buying a more powerful graphics card.
