Locking a Lowpro Bag?
Discussion
Anyone out there got a recommendation for a security lock that would fit the
small holes on the Lowpro bags?
The CompuDaypack arrived today and very good it is too, but I'd rather be able to
lock the bag the times I do have to leave it in a hotel room.
I have 5-6 locks and none fit it?!

Hope someone has an answer to this.

Have you considered a pacsafe?

They come in different sizes.

it obviously depends on which zip pulls your bag has but just had a quick glance at my lowepro bag and i think that lots of small padlocks should work. wilkinsons normally have quite a range if you have one near you (or B&Q etc)
i have one of the pacsafe nets for a large rucsac. they are very secure but a bit of a faf if you are only planning on putting it on for a short while.
plus if you are putting a bag in the hold i tend to think that it actually probably attracts more unwanted attention because it looks like there must be something valuable worth nicking, whereas a normal lowepro bag with a padlock might not look anything special.

Thanks for the replies, I'll take a look at the pacsafe.
Not found any locks that fit at any of the airports this past week.
I'd never put the bag in the hold, just had a case opened by security in America
on this trip so when I collected it, it was minus a lock with a security note and
thankfully (this time) all items present.

'nother vote for the small pacsafe. Brilliant for securing bag in strange places - wouldn't have slept without in on an overnight train (carriage shared with 59 others!) through India for instance. I ALWAYS use it if not taking the camera, and once you learn the nack of opening it out fully, and flipping it over the bag it doesn't take too long. Biggest problem is normally finding something suitable to secure it to... It takes longer to put away than put on (couple of minutes). Mine was ca. £15 delivered off ebay in camera bag size. I have some slight doubts about the durability however - it looks like the steel wire may kink and fray after a while, but we'll see...
And for us security cable ties are the way to go - they'll cut a padlock off anyway, but the cable tie will stop the casual thief when there's a stream of unsecured bags going through.
