just a quick play in photo optix with my 135 f2 attached. all shots at f2 with iso 100, 400, 1600. full size images there if you want to have a look, straight from camera jpegs. isa a bit bigger than 20D and focus's significantly quicker too, shutter a lot quieter. screen is big upgrade and live view quite neat (pic of ilford sign taken with it).

The 40d sounds like it would be a good upgrade from the 350d. Wouldn't get much for a 350d though. Could probably buy a 30d and keep the 350d for the same outlay as selling the 350d and adding the difference to buy the 40d.

ISO 1600 looks very usable.

I can't believe how little noise you get on iso 400/800 with the 40D. Opens up so many more options for hand held shooting.

Looks like a great camera, and an excellent upgrade to the 350D, infact, I just bought one half an hour ago smile

Pitty I have to work this afternoon though..

I bought the 40D Friday week ago from Jessops - the first day they came into stock. It's a great upgrade from my 300D.
I can confirm that noise is non existant at ISO 400, the large viewfinder works really well when people want instant previews, the fast shutter speed is very useful for sunday league football and there's lots I need to get used to.

I'm really happy with mine.
