Photo editing software

[Dr Imran T]

can anyone recommend me a good photo editing package that I can download online for free? I need to edit some pictures and could do with a good programme to help me!

Cheers

Fairly basic:
Irfanview

http://www.irfanview.com/

More advanced
Paint.net

http://www.getpaint.net/index.html

Gimp

http://www.gimp.org/

I use Irfanview alot, use Paint.net on occasion but have never dedicated the time to get proficient at it and have never used Gimp but know some on PH swear by it. Paint.net and Gimp are basically freeware copies of Photoshop.
