in the lab so can't really take anything decent but did a small high iso test. I'm quite pleased with the results TBH, seems cleaner than the 20D

iso 3200 f8 (camera controlled via live view and eos utility). converted to jpeg using DPP with no NR or sharpning applied. click all sizes for full size image

All you guys with new toys, I must resist the temptation of the credit card...

Looking forward to the results smile

Where did you buy them from out of interest ?

I'm glad I don't have a credit card John, could have spent a fortune the other day hehe

I got mine from Jessops, there wasn't too much of a difference in price from Warehouseexpress..

Bought mine 2 weeksago, the first day they were available in the UK. I've waited since march to upgrade from my 300D.

Focussing is really quick, instant switch on is a dream and the camera is very sharp. The difference in noise levels is really noticable at ISO 400 and 800 against my 300D. I thought I'd be keeping it as a second body but I've sold it as it's so disappointing against the 40D.

A few shots from last weekend getting used to it now, and yes I know there's water on the lens on the first. A dog shook itself.

Oh and Adobe released the raw convertor 4.2 last friday and Lightroom 1.2, both supporting the 40D, however the raw convertor only works with Photoshop CS3, not 2.
