i was fortunate enough to have my camera with me while attending a country fair recently.
I managed to get some really great quality candid (and very flattering) shots of a very newsworthy person.

Due to the nature of the event no one else was taking pictures of said person and as yet nothing has appeared in the press...

so...

What is the best way to go about selling/marketing what I have while at the same time ensuring I don't get ripped off?
I'm in London and assume there are agencies for this sort of thing and would guess some are more proffesional/reputable than others?..

How does it all work?

All advice greatfully welcomed..

and no!, I won't be posting them here... not yet anyway..

Tbh if you don't already do this for a living, you WILL get ripped off, as sure as there's a hole in your arse.
If you get away with a hundred quid for one image, think yourself lucky.

I have no idea where you'd go - papparazzi ain't my thing.

Try this lot, though they' would have to be something very special to be worth much.

Or you could accept that "celebs" are entitled to a personal life too and not publish them?

So you sweethearts think a 'Celeb' performing to the crowd at a public event is entitled to not have pictures of said activity published...???Bizarre, how is that 'personal life', I didn't take the shots over their garden fence you know!

and thankyou all for all advice given.

Your description of candid shots and nobody else taking photographs doesn't give the suggestion that it was a public appearance?

I guess we all live by different standards and it probably explains why I don't buy tabloid newspapers or glossy magazines!

tosh and piffle

they are entitled to it if you are taking shots when there are in private places, ie their home, but once outside the front door its open season

to the OP good luck selling it. Celebs make their money from exposure, your pic could raise my Celebdaq profile

try contacting the World Entertainment News Network, i did 3 night in london when learning photography to see what its like, the whole paparazzi world is a dark and messy one. thus only doing 3 nights and thinking a proper job was a much smarter option. worked on a 50% cut of price image sold for with what would have been monthly statements. There is money to be made if you want no sleep, life and can put morrals to the side now and then.

These 'Celebs' dont deserve to be stalked, but they make their money 'fame' and 'status' from the tabloids, glossy mags and other media, so i see nothing wrong with other people profiting from their desire to be in the papers, either looking good or not. Vicious circle, which most of them decide to step into. my 2p
