Hi,

I've got a picture on my PC (It's Alboreto probably '87 or '88.) and would like to know who took it. I can't remember where I got it from but would really like to see if I can get a larger version of it.
My understanding is that it's quite a famous shot.

Regardless of year, didn't Alboreto always wear 27. Doesn't help you with identifying the 'tog but might allow you to refine your search.

I may be wrong but from memory did Gerhard Berger not run number 28 in the late 80's?

27 & 28 were ferrari race numbers for a long while throughout that era.

Yip, sorry he raced 28 - my mistake.

Wish they'd use those numbers again...and run gold coloured wheels.

I think it was taken by Schlegelmilch photography at Monaco in 1987. I can't find the exact image but if you have a look on their archive you'll see an almost identical shot of Mansell.

I can't tell you who took the photo, but I can tell you that the driver is Stefan Johansson and it's from 1985.

A brilliantly executed zoom during shutter open? Would need a stack load of filters and a stupidly narrow aperture though.

Are the flames from unburnt fuel igniting during a gear change or something, or is he actually on fire?
