Photoshop Elements and iMac support

[anonymous-user]

I bought a Canon 20D digital camera a couple of years ago and it came with Elements 2.0. All run lovely on Windows. I now have an iMac and every time I try to run the s/w it wants to download 2 files - the second one being AWEDBFiles4.awe which never actually completes and just hangs.

SO.. Q. Is my s/w screwed on new iMacs? I am happy to buy a retail version of Elements 4.0 for Mac but again on the Adobe site no mention of Intel based iMac supprt.
Does it run on my iMac??

Also going to post on computers forum as not sure where is best to get an answer!

Thanks
Gary

Elements 4.0 for maC is Powerpc based and will run on intel under rosetta emulation - this could be slow though.

elemets 6.0 for mac (powerpc & intel) is out next year. elements 5.0 was pc only.

Elements 2 did exactly what you describe on my old G4 iBook. Elements 4 runs fine on my Intel iMac, and updates itself with no problem.
