Tip: Do it yourself! (just don't use a flash)
Actually, get rid of the agent and sell yourself - you'll save a bundle

We did the whole thing ourselves too. http://crossways.spoof4it.com/
So much faster getting to an agreement as well :-
Purchaser : 'I think the roof needs some work. About £7k's worth.'
Me : 'Maybe but that's reflected in the price anyway.'
Purchaser : 'I'd really like you to put something towards it.'
Me : 'Sorry, no. Still going to buy it?'
Purchaser : 'Oh, right then. Yes, I'll still buy it.'
Face to face all sorted in 5 minutes, rather than days with agents involved.

Yep, just do it yourself. There's no guarantee the weather/light outside will be any good for their alloted 15 minute slot. This happened when we sold our last house, and I took a few photos on a better day and they were used instead. I wasn't charged extra for them to take photos though - was all done on the first trip to measure up etc.
Most Estate Agents photos seem to be taken with every light on in the house, so why not take a few from other rooms in your house to get the "mood" right.
I'd probably go with the Sigma 10-20 and no flash. Pick two of the best shots of each room (take a few from different angles), plus a few outside, garden etc and supply them on a CD to your estate agent to use.

Makes you realise how much house prices have risen in 4 years really.Whilst the two DIY examples above do the job, people need to see what the interior actually looks like rather than a nice editorial style mood shot.
Tip: Use the wide lens on a tripod at about 1/2 sec at F11 and try to keep the verticals vertical! Then use your flash gun on manual at full power and bounce off the ceiling. This will give you a fighting chance of some decent interiors that will actually show a punter what the rooms look like.
Hope this helps.
Cheers Jonathan

Actually, in London having a floor plan is more important than pictures these days.Cheers jonathan

Maybe so, but the thread starter was asking about taking pictures - on a photography forum.
So the 'I'm selling my house' bit isn't relevant then? Are we banned from giving non-photographic advice here now?Clearly floor plans are useful when trying to sell your property as are virtual tours.
