Has anyone got an opinion on this DSLR?? I've had a Konica Minolta 5D for a couple of years and have been really happy with it and am now looking to upgrade.
The choices are pretty simple really. Sell everything and start again with a Canon. Can't really afford more than a 40D with a few lenses or keep all the lenses I have already and get the Sony Body.
Ta in advance...

You really want the A700? The A100 body is available in NYK now (at the mega exchange rates) for about 200GBP, which ain't bad at all.

Unless your "5" is dead or dying, I'd suggest you wait a few months.

The A700 has only just been released so the price is at it's highest right now.

If you can wait, you will save a significant amount of money (i.e. £100's) which you could spend on lenses.

Of course, if you don't mind paying the current price, KNOWING it will fall soon, the A700 will make a fine upgrade to your 5D.

The A100 is a nice camera, I like it a lot.

I bought it as a backup for my 7D, but must admit for "general" work I'm tending to use the A100 these days.

I wouldn't suggest that it is an upgrade in terms of features to your 5D, it does of course have 10mp though.
